*I will put out a disclaimer up front that my company has done work recently with PepsiCo. That said, that relationship had nothing to do with what I attended today so no nonsense about hyping up a client. K?
I was online (shocker) on Twitter (bigger shocker) the other night while working on some late night work and emails. I saw Anthony DeRosa post an interesting tweet about free tickets to Citi Field for the opening game on Monday for the first 100 people to respond to the Mets Blog. Umm…sure. Why not. Not thinking anything of it, I moved on. Then Friday I get an email congratulating me on my win for free tickets to CitiField Monday to watch a live broadcast of the game from the Pepsi Porch. FOR. FREE.
Boo. Yah.
A simple partnership with the NY Mets, Pepsi and an extremely popular blog brought in a quick amount of folks driving to the site to get tickets. My good buddy Steve Badowski joined me for the day where we traveled in the rain to Citi Field, entered the back entrance greeted by smiling Pepsi employees and were on our way. (I found it that day that many of the guests were in fact Pepsi employees—what a perk!) While we couldn’t watch the game outside on the Jumbotron from the porch, we did enjoy a large variety of snacks in the Caesar’s Lounge watching it on the flat screens, free beers and a chance to meet legendary Met Mookie Wilson. It was fantastic.
Overall—amazing event and thanks again!
